On Wednesday 27th September, 2017 and Thursday 28th September, 2017 from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, at Sangallo Hotel in Perugia, FORMA.Azione srl organizes a training course finalized to reinforce competences of the key actors of the civil society, for a great effectiveness in counter hate on line, particularly towards migrants and refugees.
FORMA.Azione (Italy)
Positive Messengers focuses on building multi-stakeholder coalitions for developing counter-narratives to denounce hate speech and negative representations of migrants and refugees. The training is one of the key-action of the Project “Coalition of Positive Messengers to Counter Online Hate Speech” – JUST/2015/RRAC/AG/BEST/8931, co-financed from European Commission, Directorate-General Justice (1 October 2016 – 30 September 2018). It is implemented by a consortium of 8 organizations from 7 countries: Bulgaria, Italy, United Kingdom, Croatia, Czech Republic, Romania, Greece. FORMA.Azione srl (the other Italian partner with IULM), is the responsible for the organization of the Italian training.
The training methodology foresees both face to face lessons and non-formal and informal training moments. On one hand, the first is aimed to inform about legislation and Internet/online social media literacy main features and to transmit general knowledge and raise awareness on hate speech online. On the other hand, the non-formal and informal learning moments will be based mainly on the exercises reported in the Bookmarks and “WE Can” Manual of CoE. Furthermore participants will cooperate for the development of Creative Tools and HOT lines.
Some of the maximum experts at national and European level in subject will participate as trainers: Alessandra Coppola (national coordinator of the national “No Hate Speech Movement” of the CoE and President Apex Agency of Integrated Promotion for the Citizens in Europe); Koffi Dossou (President of Key&KeyCommunication, expert of communication and contrast to the hate communication and xenophobe); Gabriella Klein (already teacher of Linguistics at the University of Perugia, coordinator of numerous European projects on counter hate speech and xenophobe); Giovanni Ziccardi (Professor of Juridical Computer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Milan, author of the text “The on-line hate” and of numerous other publications).
