MICROIDEA partners gathered for the 4th in person meeting and 2nd international Conference, hosted by Dom Spain and Reus Chamber of Commerce, respectively, between 12 and 14 of November, 2025.
Held in Reus (ES), MICROIDEA in person meeting was an opportunity for partners to dive into the pilots that are being carried out in Cyprus, Greece and Spain aimed to validate the curriculum of the “Waiter” training course developed in the project, to implement its micro-credentials approach, and to test the self-assessment tool that provides participants with the chance to understand the skills they need to develop, and what modules part of MICOIDEA training course they should enrol in order to develop those skills. These pilots include counselling sessions where the mentioned self-assessment tool will be used (which was tested during the meeting so that partners could become familiar with its functionalities).
Moreover, this meeting allowed partners to understand the steps of the certification and accreditation process, and the procedures for the examination mechanism in place in the project that will lead to the accreditation of the micro-credentials issued within MICROIDEA course, aligned with ISO 17024.
The 2nd MICROIDEA International Conference took place on 13.11.25. This hybrid event titled “Micro-credentials in VET: Opportunities for Employers and Employees, VET Centres, and Business Support Organisations” brought together experts from Spain, Greece, and Cyprus to discuss micro-credentials, skills recognition, and the collaboration between VET and Labour Market. The results of all presentations and discussions held allowed to conclude that:
- Micro-credentials can support upskilling and employability;
- Pathways co-designed with employers improve the recognition and trust in micro-credentials;
- Transparent assessment standards strengthen their quality and portability.
